I have type 2 herpes and got HPV years ago. But is it true is clears out of the system after 2 years? Even if I do have it and never had a outbreak for it.
I had my HPV surgically removed 20 years ago and have not had a reappearance of warts. I have had a partner for the last 10 years that has never gotten HPV from me. Can I still transmit this virus to a new partner or should I consider myself safe?
The pathology lab said the cancer at the back of my tongue was type P16 HPV (one of the cancer-causing ones that they immunize against). I finished treatment almost 4 years ago and am "otherwise healthy."
1. Am I still contagious for P16 HPV?
2. Ethically speaking, must I tell partners that my cancer was type P16 HPV and that I may still be contagious?
